Meet Dominique, the founder and owner of Dominique Dawes Gymnastics Academy.

Dominique is a three-time Olympian and member of the “Magnificent Seven,” the first American team to win gold in women’s gymnastics at the 1996 Olympics. Since then, she has set out to create a gym where children are taught in a safe, positive, and nurturing environment.

Here, we understand the importance of gymnastics as a sport, but we also recognize the toxic culture that has plagued it in the past.

Our mission is to empower children and help parents recognize the value of being in a comfortable and positive environment.

I am proud and humbled to share my induction into

I am proud and humbled to share my induction into the Maryland State Athletic Hall of Fame, which comes after 18 years of sacrifice, hard work and dedication to the sport of gymnastics. It’s been a long and rewarding journey that began when I qualified for the 1992 Olympics at the Baltimore Arena and this past week to be inducted in the Hall of Fame in the Baltimore region was a full circle moment for me. Today, the journey is much sweeter with my family by my side. I’m proud to be an owner and
founder of the Dominique Dawes Gymnastics & Ninja Academies in Rockville
and Clarksburg, MD and I look forward to bringing to the Academy to the

Twenty Seven years ago, I was honored to be featured, alongside my teammates, dubbed “ The Magnificent 7”, on the cover of the Wheaties box.

Due to the Generosity of people like Will Guidara, a new Wheaties box was made, with all of my children and I on the cover. I love it. It’s adorable and makes me remember why I started my gyms. I’m hoping to expand more gyms across the DMV market and beyond, for my kids and yours!
