Developmental Competition
Gymnastic Competition Classes Based on Skill
Push your skills and compete in the Women’s Development Program (WDP), where you’ll have the chance to showcase your talent at the USA Gymnastics State Championships.
Our developmental competition program trains young gymnasts to compete at levels 1-10, led by renowned coaches featuring classes and training sessions with three-time Olympic champion Dominique Dawes. In this competition program, students must show mastery of each skill level in order to advance with a qualifying competition score. Tryouts are required to join.

Xcel Competitive Gymnastics
Team Gymnastics at Dominique Dawes Academy
The Xcel program at Dominique Dawes Academy is designed for kids who want to be involved in a competitive team environment but with a less rigorous practice schedule. It is an intensive but flexible program designed for gymnasts who also want to maintain an active schedule outside of gymnastics. The Xcel program specializes in skills development, growth and advancement at a pace that mimics each gymnast’s ability differently. Our team of coaches is dedicated to providing guidance and support throughout their journey in this exciting program.
Ages 5 and over
Designed for kids with a passion for the sport of gymnastics who would like to be competitive with a less rigorous practice schedule
Flexibility to continue participating in other sports and extracurricular activities
Led by Dominque Dawes certified coaches and an Executive Director with decades of experience in competitive team gymnastics
Team Dawes had 24 Maryland State Champions and 8 Regional Champions in the 2023/2024 Season.
Offers pre-team and divisions Bronze through Sapphire.
